Where do the commodities for Topas products come from?Wheaty®’s
wheat is mainly cultivated in Germany and only a small
percentage is purchased in neighbouring countries. For tofu products we
use guaranteed GM-free soybeans from Austria, where even the testing
with genetically manipulated seeds is interdicted. Short routes are
eco-"logical" and TOPAS encourages regional organic farming.
Why do some TOPAS products resemble well – known meat products? Is this necessary? We are working on an own cooking culture for
Wheaty®, which is in fact an independent product. Still ToPAS attaches great importance to the
feasibility of vegetarian thinking. Additionally the products are
familiar to consumers and make it easier for anybody who thinks about changing his eating habits.
Is Wheaty® suitable for People on the Hay diet (food combining)?Wheaty®
contains on average 27% protein and - except of the Square Steak – only
5-7% carbohydrates. In doubt, please refer to the analyses!
What kinds of fat does Wheaty® contain? All our products contain organic high-oleic sunflower oil with a high grade of
stable fatty acids. Only our Spacebars, which do
not require refrigeration are still produced with naturally
unhydrogenated coconut oil, with the quality to even stay stable on hot summer
days. Both are free of cholesterol.
Can Wheaty® be frozen?No
problem! Wheaty® contains only little water, so its texture will not change by unfreezing.
How does Wheaty® react to boiling and frying?
Generally Wheaty® is suitable
for all kinds of cooking - boiling, frying, steaming, microwaving –
if you respect a few rules.
Since Wheaty® is a low-fat
aliment, put a little oil on the grillable before frying.
If you
reheat it in a sauce or soup, please avoid boiling it too long! It
holds nicely together but becomes insipid.
In the oven, e.g. using
our slices as a pizza topping, do not leave them within hot, dry air
too long, but mix it with other juicy toppings.
